The mission of COZDA is to promote the well-being of Zimbabweans in the DC area and beyond, including the provision of the means to basic education, healthcare, and social services to vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe, especially children.

The mission of COZDA is to promote the well-being of Zimbabweans in the DC area and beyond, including the provision of the means to basic education, healthcare, and social services to vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe, especially children.
At Coalition For Zimbabweans in the DC Area, we strive to improve the lives of underprivileged children by providing them with education, food, and shelter. Our aim is to break the cycle of poverty and give these children a chance at a better future.

Founded in 2020, Coalition For Zimbabweans in the DC Area has been working tirelessly to help children and vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe.
Eight diaspora Zimbabweans met on April 18, 2020, to explore possibilities of starting a new organization.

Founded in 2020, Coalition For Zimbabweans in the DC Area has been working tirelessly to help children and vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe.
Eight diaspora Zimbabweans met on April 18, 2020, to explore possibilities of starting a new organization.
The organization, will be a support network of Zimbabweans living in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and across the United States, with a mission to support vulnerable children, especially in education and healthcare in Zimbabwe.
By May, 2020, nine members constituted the steering committee for the new organization. A formal name for the organization was agreed upon, Coalition for Zimbabweans in the DC Area (COZDA).
COZDA was registered in the state of Maryland in August, 2020. Wilmerhale Law firm has filed for a 501c3 status with the IRS on behalf of COZDA.
